Ubisoft couldn't wait for E3 this year, which will be in July. They had so much content they wanted to show fans that they've created Ubidays - a special time for all Tom Clancy and Assassin's Creed fans to come together and embrace the much loved company that is Ubisoft. We'd like to give you readers a brief rundown of each game presented at Ubidays, and what to expect when they hit the stores.
Tom Clancy's EndWar
Let's start with one of the most anticipated games on the market ever since it was announced through a website similar to the Halo 2 www.ilovebees.com. It was codenamed rev64, and fans really had no idea what to expect from the title until it was properly announced as Tom Clancy's EndWar - A coming together of Rainbow Six and Ghost Recon to create an epic MMORPGRTS *insert more anagrams here*. From what we've seen of the game coverage from Ubidays, it's looking great. The game looks quite complex at first, but Ubisoft assures fans that it will be just as easy and fun to play as all the other Tom Clancy games.
Gamers will gather online in massive battles where you can take control of various parts of the battlefield. You can be a general and lead an entire army, or you can take orders from the general and lead your specific unit. The graphics looked almost real, with hundreds of moving units on screen at any one time including soldiers, tanks, helicopters, and drones - unmanned kamikazi aircraft designed to target and destroy air assaults. although they were pre-rendered. Overall, EndWar is looking great and would want to after the amount of hype Ubisoft has created for this title. We're looking forward to some gameplay footage in the coming months, and we'll post release dates as soon as we can.
Direct from Ubisoft:
EndWar is a full scale wargame set in a highly plausible near-future global war, a chillingly realistic vision of World War III in Europe and America. It is an epic real-time strategy game where you are the commander of the elite forces and advanced war machines of the 21st Century super-powers. Set in the year 2020, EndWar explores the future implications of a number of real world events which are taking place today.
The nuclear deterrent kept the Cold War from going hot for 60 years. In EndWar's story the missile defence shield cooperatively deployed by the USA and Europe effectively removes that deterrent. Also for 60 years the Western world was united against the percieved threat of the Soviet Union. Without a common enemy, without mutually assured destruction and in a world of diminishing resources, we assume that the 21st Century won't be so different from the age of hate we saw in the 20th Century. When people start forgetting the horrors of the past they are doomed to (continued next page)
