My god, that's a classic Radiohead song. grin

If you want any other recommendations, ask me, because I am a massive Radiohead nerd.

So am I! Hey! Me! Pick me!

lol. It's probably because I'm into listening to music like The Cure and Siouxsie & the Banshees (for example) so much that I don't really pay a lot of attention to other bands. wink

To be honest though, the only other song that I know of theirs is "Creep" ( only because I used to hear it being attempted at Karaoke all of the time) but if there's any other songs that are similiar to Fake Plastic Trees, let me know for sure. smiley

Karma Police
Airbag
The Tourist
Street Spirit (Fade Out)
Bullet Proof
Where I End And You Begin
True Love Waits

Those are probably some good starters, they change their sound a lot, but give those a shot.

How to Disappear Completely is a good kinda similar one.

My favourites are probably Reckoner and Pyramid Song. Bit creepy that one.

Yeah, I wasn't picking my favourites, I was trying to get close to the FPT sound.

Funnily enough, I read today that they were inspired by Siouxie and the Banshees: http://www.musicemissions.com/artists/index.php?artist_id=3368

I would like to suggest a consensus is needed about the way we present song and band names in this thread. In the above post, I have no idea which of those two is the song, and which is the band. I suggest the colon after the band's name, i.e. Coldplay: Yellow. In my mind the only way that can work is if the band name comes first - it wouldn't make grammatical sense with it the other way around, i.e. Yellow: Coldplay.

I did it the band name first. I thought that was how everyone does it?

I always thought it went:

track name
band name
album name

Sort of like in descending order

day
month
year

Surely band name should be below album name though? All A are B, all B are C?

I just do it band name followed by the track name as that's the default format of music players (the computer has to be right!).

I always thought it went:

track name
band name
album name

Sort of like in descending order

This is how I organise my itunes, then set it to order via bandname. I spent like 2 days arranging music when I moved to itunes, payed off though. Now my ipod can play via:
Band name
Album
Genre
Era
Personalised Playlist
Genius

I like order in my music.

If anyone has a messy iTunes, there's a great app I discovered called TuneUp that analyses songs against its database, then offers the proper title, band, album and album art, which you can just save into the library. It also shows info on songs you're playing and any local concerts you might be interested in. There's a free trial of 100 songs.

Song - Artist.

The best method (the "-" would simply mean "by").

I still advocate that a colon is the best, unmistakable way to format.

I agree that '-' is used more frequently, but clearly people read it in different ways. There is only one way to read 'City of Satellites: Moon in the Sea'.
