thatgamecompany are the developers of one of my favourite PS3 games, Flower. Now they're returning to the system with a new title, Journey. You play as a character stranded in the desert, who is slowly trudging towards a light on a mountain in the far distance. It's a solitary experience, with another beautiful art style. You stumble through the sand, clothes blowing in the wind. You find scraps of cloth that can be used as sails, helping you traverse the environment. There are no enemies, only puzzles in navigating the world.

The game runs online, and will occasionally introduce another player. They are anonymous - a fellow weary traveller - and you can only communicate by pressing the X button to make a noise. Hold it down and you'll make a noise for longer. Together you can help each other through obstacles that would take more time otherwise. In your trek you'll explore the remnants of an ancient civilisation.

Journey will be another reflective game that is definitely not for everyone, but I'm very excited. You won't experience everything the first time through, so there'll be definite replayability. It due for release next year.

I found Flower a bit boring. This game looks rather...weird. I'm not really a fan of this kind of thing.

I thought flower was cool. Also, I dig two things; the desert, and flowy cloaks, so I'm all about it.
