Look man, no matter how much money you have, if youyou suck in a game industry, it would be wise to pull out. Nobody is going to loos 4 billion, then loose another 10 billion before realizing their not doing well inthe game market.

Microsoft have people they pay to ensure they are efficient and they don't waist their money.

I think since the death of the Megadrive and Snes eveyone went all "Grown up" and "Violent", so developers were like "we don't really need to make good games we just need to throw in some FMV's and make these kids think their grown up".

Now no one likes cartoonish games, even though they were the best games to play.

The Wii the X360 and PS3 are built in 90nm technology, (That is what computer generations are based on, how many transistors you can fit in a chip)

The Wii isn't last generation, the reason its easy to develope on the Wii:

i) Nintendo said they wanted evey game company to be able to develope on the Wii, that was the aim.

ii) The processor has a single/double core making it easier to program on.

It dosn't  make sense to make life harder for developers as time goes on, they should get easier. i dont think simpler titles will be the case, the way i see it any game on the PS3 can be easily made on the Wii with all the same effects.

The PSP is far away from the graphics on the Wii. Let me show u how it kind of works

The 729Mhz cpu is about the power of a 1GHz Power PC cpu. With 1MB cache twice the cache of the PS3.

The PS3 and X360 are said to produce 6400 MIPS (million instructions per second. But because of the way their architecture is built they both will never be able to perform this number in real games.

Realistically they can produce closer to 4000 MIPS for games. 

The Wii's cpu can produce 2320 MIPS Effectively. 

Its fair to say realistically the PS3 and X360's CPU will perform about twice the power of the Wii's cpu.

All that 3.2Ghz/ cell, core stuff is just hype to make you believe its doing something new.

The Ps3 wins over the X360 down to its Nvidia graphics. Nvidia do not make quality graphic cards like ATI but they can outperform them when it comes to high res polygon counts.

The Wii has very fast memory, using 1T-Sram, running at 25 GB/s, and it has 6MB more eDram then the X360 (for more complex graphics). Not to mention the possiblilty to use the 512MB of flash memory.

The Wii only has about 130MB of memory but the configuration and quality is so well done, it will have some small graphical advantages over the PS3 and X360. Mainly the loading time, i doubt you will have to wait for anything to load with the Wii.

The Wii is not last generation it needs complex games.

Let me correct myself. The PS3 has GDDR and XDR Memory.

I'll believe it when I see it. Wii games won't look bad. They just won't have the grunt to perform, you know, the spectacular physics explosions with shards of glass going everywhere, etc. etc.

No the effects wont differ between the three consoles. Where you can do a reflection on the PS3 you can do on the Wii. The truth is ( None of the consoles are powerful enough to do real ray tracing)

All the shadows and reflections and refractions you see from the PS1, N64 to the PS3 are all Fake tricks. The disadvantage is that the effects are much less accurate, the advantage is that you get to see effects on games that can make the console seem almost 50 times the power of what it is. Even some of the shiny objects don't use true lighting.

The smartest move Nintendo made was to exclude HD. If the Wii was HD it would need to be over 2 and a half times the power just to sustain the same graphics in HD.

The main difference between the consoles will be polygon count, but since the Wii will run at 640x480, it can get away with less polygons and lower textures.

The thing with Google/Yahoo is that they don't have double meanings. Virgin is the perfect example.

A name with more then one meaning relating to the products is a good thing. Wii could mean WE, or to some people it oculd mean Wee as in small. And even though some mistake it for "WHY" thats still not a bad thing, keeps you thinking.

I think its the Devs choice, or maby even settings such as sensitivity. I think people will consider that some players will be at home in a small room, so their must be some settings. Just like mouse sensitivity.

I see what you are saying. I just don't understand it a great deal. If you work with graphics, you would have a much greater understanding of how things works. To me, the amount of polygons a console can push goes straight over my head. I, like all other casual consumers, don't look at tech specs. They look at how the retail games look, and judge accordingly.

What were you disagreeing with? That the Xbox looks better graphically than the GCN, or that in three years time the PS3 and Xbox 360 games will look much better than any Wii game?

I know its not solely about how many polygons a console can push, but i can see what these manufacturers are doing.

Its about quality!

The PS1 can push twice as many polygons (for rounder characters in games) as the N64 (believe it or not).
But this was only when the N64 took full advantage of all its effects. But the N64 had much better/ smoother graphics.

The Xbox has a really chap/ poor performing intel Cpu, The NGC has "half of" cheap slow ass memory. Not only me but i find that the best looking Xbox games are in 30fps, whilst most NGC games run at 60fps. Thats literally twice to power needed to sustain the graphics.

I think nintendo have better experiance in confuiguration of hardware (NEC are good at what they do). Im getting geeky now, check out the pictures below, (not including heatskink or CD/DVD drive). They buy less of more expensive parts, where the others buy more of cheaper parts.

Why am i such a freak to nintendo? When i was young i read that there was two megadrives, the first one could only push about 512 colours, where the Snes was pushing 65K. So they had to bring out the megadrive 2.

They worked with Sillicon Graphics to make the N64! Silicon Graphics now owns Alias Wavefront, the ones who make software they use to make all the best looking games and movies like Shrek. Alias worked with Nintendo in the making of the NGC and Wii along with NEC. NEC apparently make the best semi conductors, one reason why the consoles are so compact.

Of the 40MB There was about  24MB of Mosys 1T-Sram (high speed, high bit density, low power) in the NGC. Mosys are the makers of this memory, they have been working with Nintendo since the N64, IBM have been working with Nintendo since about 1998.

Xbox 360 and Ps3 use DDR and GDDR memory (better then whats in your pc im guessing). I made a mistake before, the memory of the Wii is not 30% faster, it will have the same bus speed as XDR but it will perform better. Anyway!!!

Well I think it's just a case of Nintendo realising a lot of people already have DVD players, so if they were to include dvd playback as standard it will boost up the RRP. If people don't want it, they won't buy it.

Not really, the DVD function is already in the system, the same reason you buy the remote for the Xbox is the same reson you will buy the "DVD expansion thing" that goes in the Wii. It dosn't do anything. Nintendo are against DVD and Audio CD but they have no choice if they want to survive.

i feel like getting a second console. I kind of miss out playing Mortal Kombat and Real Sport games. And my older brother was telling me not to get another Nintendo console. But he doesn't really know gaming all that well, and doesn't know what they're capable of this time.

My sister says her friend won a X360, but she's going back to Sweden in a couple of weeks. So she might sell it to us for half price my sis reckons. It's PAL over in Europe anyway right? Shouldn't tell her friend that huh?

A PS3 wont be too bad, but I rather win it. Or wait until a few price drops. I would probably get the one with the smaller hard drive if I had to choose.

To be honest i'm going with the NWii. It looks very promising. And I can't wait for some of the games. It's also the first time ever Zelda and Metroid have been up for Launch.
I'm hoping Ninty throw a Spaceworld show this year. I want to see more games in action. It's taking forever. I check IGN.com every month and nothing seems to change on their Wii page.

I had Shadow Dark and Conker Bad Fur Day on the N64, they used bad language on that. Its not about then content its about the image. GTA was on the gameboy its possible it may come out on the Wii.

not being a geek but, just iamgine playing fighting games on the Wii with the nunchuk. you will have to flick your wrist to do uppercuts and probably hold down a button just to controll upperbody or lower body.

i)  The DEV kits are cheap
ii) Easier to program games on the Wii (And faster)
iii) The controller is an attraction

No! And my options are always open, i just need proof. Ive seen what the PSP is. The PSP is a portable playstation 2 with the ability to play movies and a few other things. Its not bad, i dont own one, i heard about the battery life, but it seems like a good console. Ive seen people waling the streets watching movies on it.

Its not for me because i know if i own a move i will get bored of it unless i own alot, and prefer watching movies on a big screen. But i think its great for kids and people who travel alot.

The PS2,, to me is still crap. The games look very good now, but evey game i play on it feels crap, bad controll or boring.

The X360, I liked the games eveyone didn't like such as Perfect Dark and Kameo. But the rest were boring!

So im like. Ok someone tell me what great aout the PS3 and i will consider buying it.

Nintendo is using Opera, I use opera sometimes its a good browser, better then Internet Explorer "well eveythings better then Internet Explorer"

The internet is necessary for games, online gaming and all that. The only feature i can see with the browser is buying games to download or similar.

I think Nintendo isnt revolved around japan. For a start the name Nintendo means something like  "leave luck to heaven".

They started out selling playing cards. Im not sure if Wii has a japaneese meaning. I think it was made to keep people guessing.
