The Shield

With The Shield being the best cop show on TV right now, I thought I would ask firstly if anyone watches it, and secondly this thread could be used to discuss the week's episode.

I love it because it's...real. Forget Ice-T pretending to be a detective, or those Blue Heeler kids solving a plethora of crimes that would never happen in such a small town. The Shield looks at both cops who uphold the law, and those that break it. The characters are well developed most with an underlying problem (Vic and his family, Julien's homosexuality, Aceveda creepy sexual/political desires etc.) which intertwines throughout the show and doesn't just serve the "filler time" purpose like on so many other shows.

It's well worth a look if you haven't seen it already. It's on 10:30 Wed Night on Ten.

Its a shame this show isnt shown in a better time slot. I used to watch it on fox 8 when I had foxtel. Unfortunately now its on too late for me to watch it. I guess the other means of getting the show is my only chance to see it.

I LOVE this show. i made a post about it in the underated shows thread a whileback, i just wish they'd give it a better time slot

Yeah same, but only because I think of all the people who miss out on this great show. I'm up till 1 most nights so the time slot doesn't phase me personally.

What do you think of this current season Whysmell? I quite like Glenn Close as the head. Her aspirations are for cleaning up the community and not on political gain. I think Vic is a bit subdued than in the past. He still runs off a wee-bit but not to the extent he did when say they robbed that money train, still it's hard to complain as it managed to keep me entertained and interested week after week.

Yeah so far this seasons been good, especially last episode. That said i did like the last season more so far, but I suppose this season is building up to something big, like the money train last season

Yeah the ending to last week's episode was brilliant. I quite like Anthony Anderson's character, and he pretty much owned Shane and his sidekick.

I'm VERY interested to see how Shane will go about trying to kill Vic. This season is starting to pick up the form that got me hooked on The Shield originally.

I never got this show, I've seen it but I never caught onto it's appeal. Maybe because Micheal Chickless looks comical to me and I can't take him seriously? I don't really watch much tv either tho
