My biggest hope is that they'll actually give us online with Brawl and allow us to play with strangers.

I reckon Ness might get cut, and replaced with someone with similar moves. Maybe a Pokemon will take his moves. Mewtwo will be gone, Roy and Marth will be gone and replaced with newer FE characters, Game and Watch will probably be cut, anyone else I'm not sure.

Quote
So I was searching for some hype threads of SSBB in google.
Suddenly I found a site that linked me to
The Nintendrone
http://nintendrone.blog.com/

I read this:
Along with the well known news that there will [probably] be some sort of news about Brawl released in 6 days (Japan Time, equalling a few years in human time), I have HUGE news. The Nintendrone has gained a power-up! What is it you ask? A possible VIP invitation as an independent journalist to an event which will be occurring soon. I can't talk much now, but at the very least, I have almost secured an interview with someone very closely tied to the development of the game. Wish me luck. At the very worst we'll have an interview and no Brawl news, but some other Nintendo-related juicy-ness.

Here's the stuff on Smash Bros. Brawl

Super Smash Bros. Brawl:

Players will be able to choose from multiple control options. Main focus is on GC controller, and Nintendo is currently considering redistribution of them.

No motion-sensitive controls in main game.

Game will feature no more than 50 characters.

"Since there's a huge fan-demand for online play, the game will almost definitely feature it. That's the plan. We pay a lot more attention to the fans than you would think, and we think it would be pretty dumb to ignore it. What's funny is if we had never addressed the rumor, people wouldn't be so expectant of it as they are."

They wouldn't tell me any new specific characters.

"Fans will be extremely pleased with the quality and number of characters we've brought around, as we made this very much a fan-desire project. There won't be anymore 'clones' (just thought I should mention, he did the finger quote thing, and I literally lol'd) either. There are definitely characters that will be huge surprises too, one of which happens to be my absolute favorite."

Not all characters will return. The original smash bros. will.

Alternate Costumes/Color Schemes will be included.

No comment on third parties.

The game has been made "more balanced".

No comment on N64 like intros.

No comment on "advanced techniques".

There will be new items, and some have been taken out. (Bob-ombs confirmed, don't worry.)

Super Smash Attacks are not immediately activated, can be reserved.

Adventure mode will be much larger, ****c mode will be featured.

Will include more game modes, some from N64 will return.

Events will be included.

This game is scheduled to release this year.

No comment on shoot the credits.

hopefully this site launch will open up the door, to most questions being answered or anothner trailer. I believe by tomorrow there should be something. It does say 1 day left. And 1 is in red.

well nothing's happened yet.....

Maybe this afternoon there will be something.

I wonder what's going on. Will this just be a site launch or is there something there. How many games have a countdown to a site launch.

It's launched, nothing new except the levels change times of day and some music.

I think there might be a clue as to what characters in the companies the people who are making music are from -
There are several from grasshopper, konami, and a few less well known companies... but most of the games are fighters or RPGs.

Maybe some no more heroes characters?

Yeah looks like it'll be daily updates barring weekends. So maybe we could make an update on the frontpage with all the juicy info from the week.

We still be able to talk about it, but at the end of the week we add it to the front.
Looks like it'll be small announcements like this to the release date.

I actually like that new Stage format. I did notice a bit of it going in the trailers and screenshots.

It's good he'll be there everyday though. Hopefully he'll live up to that promise though.

nothing big for updates today.

Just Mario and Link character profiles, I imagine he wants to get these out of the way. So he can tell us more about what we've seen in past trailers.

I'm curious about crawling and some of these stages.

One theory going is that each of the composers is composing a specific theme for a character specific level, if you can imagine that.

Nintendo has also said the character roster will be less than 50, which I have taken to mean more than 40, since if the roster was going to be less than 40 they would have just said less than 40, not less than 50.

Because they said less than 50 even if they had 40 through 43 characters some people would be pissed. I think they will have to have mid to high forties.

I just hope Celda Link is like Young Link to TP's Adult Link.

And two forms of Samus equals twice the awesomeness. I wonder if they're available as seperate and if Samus really does lose her armour if you pull off her super, or if that was just a flashy way of unveiling the character. Either way is good. On one hand, you'd have two characters, on the other hand, you'd have one character with twice the depth and added strategy.

Either way, we get T&A, something very unlike Nintendo. I liked her better when she was the silent type who only rewarded bikini shots to those who kicked serious amounts of ass during her adventures.

I believe we'll get the main deal on Samus and Zamus soon. Probably when they show profiles. They have been some sources saying they are separate characters, much like the Yg. Link and Adult Link. Some have also found and a lot believe it'll be determined like Zelda turning into Sheik.

To me Zamus seems to be her own character, that's what I've gathered from most of the trailers. And it does say newcomer, so what's up with that?

Gooey Bomb to be a new item from yesterday. It sounds like an okay item. Nothing too special. Could be cool how it sticks to characters, kind of reminds me of Poison Ball.
Or that game in Mario Party, where if you held the bomb too long, or didn't pass it fast enough, it would explode.

The gooey bomb has some people going off, saying it's a rip off of the sticky plasma grenade from Halo.

And then I remind people that Halo? Original ideas?

And then people go one way. They either chuckle and go "oh yeah" or they go into full fanboy mode and start screaming at me calling me a bunch of sticks while screaming at their mum for some chocolate milk.

Remember when sticky mines were in Goldneye and Perfect Dark? Nothing like sticking a remote mine to someone and just waiting for the right time to set it off.

Pit's special moves. It doesn't list his down special move, but I'd bet that's seperating his bow into twin blades.

I think the seperation of the blades is done automatically when you start attacking with the A button. As in, bladed attacks for Melee, Bow for ranged.

Also, since he has wings, I expect him to have multiple jumps ala Jigglypuff and Kirby.

Ah, true, but odd they didn't list his last move. Guess they need material for the whole time till launch. Or they don't have one Tongue but I doubt that. His up move was fly, so I reckon that'll be a slower, recoverable (like the one before you cant jump or do any more moves move) sort of hover/move about thing.

They also didn't list his forward smash either, so I'm guessing it's two special moves per update. As in, announce Pit, list two special moves, list two more special moves, announce new character, rinse and repeat.

You know what would be awesome? Having Link's bottles as a health recovery item. For example, a fairy could come out, restoring your points to 0. Or it could be a potion taking off a percentage or it could be water which does nothing or it could be a fish which makes you sick and move slower for a limited time or until you get smashed.

cool new stage.

I like what they've done with the Delfino Plaza. Some of these stages are going to be an awesome Brawling ground. I can't believe I'm saying this but when I get this game I wont know which stage to start at.

Most likely Delfino Plaza seems to be a special stage and could be requirements to unlock.

They should do that depending on which arena you're fighting in.. so in a Mario arena there could be an area that fills up with water occasionally where you can take some of your % off by swimming in there, but it would also be a potential target for attacks.. hmm..

Clever MC.
I don't really like the pictures of moving stages so far, I know the Metaknight one was only temporary but it looked more like a random video playing in the background with the stage not melding into it at all.
