Got it today, thanks to them sending it in my package with Super Paper Mario which came out thursday.

I could post some pics, the packaging is fair fancy. Won't be able to play it till later tonight though, homework first cry

9.5 @ IGN, they have a 5 page review on it. The UK review on IGN is only 2 pages and mostly complains about how disappointing it is but still scored it 9.5 which is amusing

Not worth a 9.5 so far, but I'm only up to the third level, played some split-screen co op and a couple of deathmatches, and had a fiddle with forge.

Campaign is pretty fun, I'm playing heroic so there's been a few tough bits, but anything less than that is weak as.
Played deathmatch on uhh Guardian or something, a level that wasn't in the beta, was pretty decent, reminded me of one of the old snow levels from 2.
Also, forge is a bit of a pain to use. I'm pretty sure having a few playing running around would be fun, but it's awkward to place stuff and build things. I'll get better Tongue

the review said that bungie made it fairly easy because so many casual gamers will buy it. if you have any halo experience they recommended going to the harder modes

Yeah, Heroic is more entertaining, makes the levels longer cause you're fighting most of the time compared to a bunch of seperated, easy fights.

So I beat it on heroic, took about 7-8 hours... I wasn't expecting it to wrap up so fast to be honest, but I didn't have my hopes up for a long campaign after the 2 hour campaign that was Halo 2 Tongue

Would you really want another campaign like the first one that resulted in the second half of the game being cut and paste? Sure, the flood reveal was awesome. Was. Until it got tedious about ten seconds later.

Has gone on to sell $US170M in 24 hours, making it the best selling entertainment product in history apparently, beating Spiderman 3 movie, and Harry Potter Deathly Hallows book sales.

Yeah, kinda expected something like that, but didn't think of comparing it to the movie or book industry - kinda hilarious, at least it'll put gaming in the spotlight for a bit.

Ending is alright - like the cutscene...

But the last 2 levels are . Absolutely crap and unentertaining. Everyone at school who has finished it agrees with me.

It was like pulling teeth!

You don't need to be sophisticated or intelligent to know if something is fun. Assuming his profile age is correct then he and his friends are in the age bracket that Halo is aimed at.

"Halo is a wonderful example of pop video gaming. Very much in the same way the the music industry dishes out crap because everyone buys it. People as a whole are idiots, and love to be told what to do. The more general you make a game, the less the game shines. Halo is a perfect example of a polished turd."

The fact that you may feel that a is speaker is biased or has ulterior motives does not preclude his statement from being right. That's a fallacy of argument.

EDIT: Incidentally, I haven't played enough of Halo to feel strongly either way in this discussion.

Don't fix what ain't broken.

also yes same characters = same game so Nintendo should stop using Mario already mir  Roll Eyes

I played Halo 3 for 30 minutes or so before I found myself over it. Halo 3 = Halo 2 but with prettier graphics and that one thing-a-majic added in that sucks. sad
It seems in this case same characters DO mean same game. Thumbs up to Nintendo for keeping it fresh. myeehh, Bungie, not so much.

Well this is end of the trilogy.. which was hatched 5 years ago or so - gameplay is starting to age.

Next game will probably be quite different.

i think the single campaign was lacking- but still worth playing- the multiplayer, however, kicks all different kinds of ass...

Forge is alright, you can make some decent stuff and there are some cool levels, but it ain't as good as it was supposed to be.

Most annoying thing is you can't link variants and maps - so if you make a map specifically for a variant you gotta make them seperately and load each one on its own.

But yeah, some cool stuff has been done.

Got all the skulls now, so I have my Hayabusa armour for multiplayer.

My friend went to a Halo 3 party yesterday.
And like.
There were 6 xbox 360s...
... and my friend said the multiplayer was basically like Halo 2, 'cept some new weapons, in which some of the new weapons were actually old ones. And some other stuff I forgot he said. They all got bored of it after awhile.
Quoted from another forum I frequent. Everybody there pretty much agrees that Halo 3 = Halo 2 except prettier.

I played co-op campaign on a few levels with Dave and I found it fun. I also played some multiplayer deathmatch with my older brother (on that level with just the rocket launchers... hehehehehehehe) and found that fun too.

I was glad to see the Assault Rifle back and I don't really understand why you need new weapons in order for the game to be fun. Considering each game runs off the previous wouldn't it be a bit weird if the arsenal just keeps getting a miraculous upgrade?

If the Halo series were stand alone titles (like Final Fantasy games for example) then it would be disappointing to see no real change in weapons but they're not, so I don't see what the big deal is.

As far as the single-player campaign is concerned I can't really comment because I haven't played through them.

I've played a fair bit of multi now (hooking up 2 systems it was sweet) can say that it is a damn fun game. Co-op is pretty awesome as well. I've never played the previous halos but this is really cool
