Activision today announced a brand new Wii double pack of Guitar Hero III, containing the revised version with stereo sound (we checked) and two Gibson Les Paul guitar peripherals. Of course, this means you'll be able to jump into multiplayer straight out of the box. The game ships to stores today.
"Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock remains an overwhelming success for Activision Australia, and as such many potential guitar heroes have been disappointed by the lack of available units," said Peter Skjellerup, Product Manager of Red Octane/Activision Australia. "The introduction of the Wii Double Pack bundle aims to make amends for the shortfall of stock by giving Wii gamers access to multiplayer fun without buying two copies of the game!"
In the same release, Activision also revealed a new retail promotion - Guitar Hero: Amplified - which encompasses all the previous games, and confirmed that the game would be hitting PCs on April 16th (with a guitar peripheral, of course).
Sliced Comments: There's no mention of the price, but it has to be more expensive than the original bundle with one controller, right? The sceptics in us say the double pack bundle is a way to force buyer to outlay more cash and make up for the expensive disc recall after the mono sound debacle.
