Game Informer have dropped a craptonne of info on a bunch of games in its upcoming issue: the first bit of craptonne concerns the previously announced Guitar Hero IV. We all know they're stealing ideas coming up with new ideas concerning multiple instruments, but that's not enough for Activision! Turns out there'll be a 'Create a Song' mode, where you'll be able to use Drums, Bass and Guitar to mix together a tune. From here, you can upload it to something called "GH Tunes" where people can download it and love it or flame you. You can name your tune and give it album art.

Customisation seems to be the flavour of the month here: you'll be able to create your own rocker, your own guitars and your own drums. Oh, and did you hate the cover versions of certain songs in Guitar Hero 3 (La Grange, my heart laments)? All the songs in GH4 will be master tracks. As for the playlist, they want to keep a lid on it, but you can expect Van Halen, The Eagles, Linkin Park and Sublime to feature.

A new guitar peripheral is also on the way, with a new input mechanic that will "impact the way you play GH in the future". Provided you're playing it in the future.

Here I am, brain the size of a planet, and they ask me to copy stories. Call that job satisfaction, 'cause I don't.
