Logie Awards 2009 Wager
«
on:
April 06, 2009, 05:25:31 PM »
I thought it might be fun to have a little competition to guess the Logie winners this year. Honestly, I don't give a crap about the awards. In such a small industry as ours, it's meaningless. But it's fun to guess who the winners will be. Here's the full list. I'll bold my picks as I make them, but you can just copy it all and then delete the ones you're not picking so we don't have a really long thread. Bear in mind that the 'popular' awards are voted by the public, while the 'outstanding' awards are voted by the industry.

GNW / Paul Mcdermit didn't make any category. Shows how much of a farce these awards are.
I think Rove "No Talent" Mcmannus will make off with the gold.....again.
Natalie "alphabetlastname" will win a few too me thinks.
But I don't really know, I only watch House, Scrubs, GNW and the news.

I like to watch Border Security because my dad's a customs officer. Other than that I just watch So You Think You Can Dance from that list.

The only ones I want to win are The Hollowmen and Kat Stewart, because she was hilarious in Newstopia WHICH DID NOT GET A NOMINATION. Mr Firth Goes To Washington was crap. I did like Review with Myles Barlow, but I liked Hollowmen more.

I mean, I feel for the guy losin his wife, for that I give sincere condolences - but I just can't stand him on his show, if he fired Pete Helleir, I'd like him a bit more....

I can stand Peter hellier as much as George's gym teacher in Seinfeld can stand George.
I lolled at him when I saw him at a shopping center one time. He was dressed at strawnie: lord of the douches.

This! Newstopia was the best Australian TV show of 2008 imo.
I'm also in the group of people who doesn't watch any of the listed shows, I only watch the news really.

I used to watch the news religiously, but has anyone noticed it repeats itself quite a bit? I mean, atm its "oh noes, theres an evil virus lose and we're all 100% it's going to kill everyone".....just like SARS, Bird Flu, that other one I can't name.
And after all the BS about the world econemy was leading us into the "worst depression in history", I'm really just tired of all the fear-mongering.

Everyone is wondering why the logies sucked so much.. Gretel Coleen + bad stunts + Bert Newtons son = fail event. Underbelly = fail, Packed to the Rafters = fail for people who aren't mothers, all other shows are way passed their use-by date.
The whole thing was fail, send it up to the Gold Coast, Melbourne doesn't want it anymore.

Nobody wants it.
Australian television really needs to just start over fresh. Get rid of all the "actors" and shows and all that.

Yeah, Australian TV does suck. Apparently the newspapers had a go at Gretel for being so bad. I didn't watch any parts with her in it (mind you I only tuned in for about 10 minutes) but I can imagine my face would have been permanently cringed if I did.
