So I'm thinking about buying a premium theme to see what all the fuss is about. this is the biggest picture I can find of what the AC2 one looks like:

It's basically just a background for the Friends blade (see here for others http://www.my360.com.au/Post.aspx?id=6967&p=1), doesn't really do anything premiumy. Costs about $3.

I got the Halo Wars one. It looked alright. I think they purposely made the NXE friends blade dull as  so they could sell this. smiley

themes, i dunno, this is the kinda crap that  me about live, charging points (money) to get these... its poor form, if you get the game you should get the theme, they have all these gamer pics and themes and extra gimmick crap that just shouldnt have a price.

and yes i understand AC2 isnt out yet.

Yep that's one of the things I hated about XBL, the shameless greed of chargin for themes.

IIRC you can get:
A) Theme creaters to make your own
B) Themes similar to the XBL ones for free online, then just use a USB to transfer them

These premium themes have had a bit more effort gone in to them than just backgrounds. It's not much but it's something that would at least take more than 2 minutes. I bought the AC2 one because it's my second most anticipated game of the year (DiRT 2 being first!) and I'm not disappointed. For every friend on my friend list it has a different building behind them from the upcoming game instead of the stock standard ones. Of course, there's only about 15 different types or so, so eventually it repeats but it still looks cool, 3d AC2 buildings on my dash.

Also there's a background picture that doesn't change no matter where you are on the dashboard.
