Grand Theft Auto IV reviews were pretty shifty.. making out it was like the greatest game ever. I wouldn't have ever said that, even San Andreas was better in everything except visuals.

although many other sites (and er, masterchief tongue) also fell for the same thing

I rated it my favourite game of '08 and played/enjoyed it the most last year... I don't think I fell for anything.

I wouldn't have ever said that

Well, yeah. You wouldn't have. But other people felt differently.

Many agreed.. wasn't just me.. for a game to score such 'near perfect' scores, you'd want it to be near damn perfect and for regular gamers such as myself to go "man, that was the best game ever".  Tongue It had many flaws.

this is not the 'why GTA IV was not the greatest game ever thread' (well it is now  Tongue)... but graphics had slowdown for a start, less side missions, weak storyline, poorer music selection that previous titles, repeditive missions, tedious friendship system, less humour than last title, etc..

No way. 2 was better than 1.

GTA4 annoyed me because it moved away from lots of colour and fun explosions into a more brown attempt to be more realistic.

That was why I could stand to play it all actually, it had a sort of believable world. I think all the others are shithouse, though I enjoyed 2 in its hayday.

lol.. I liked GTA: San Andreas, even though I haven't finished it.. it seemed to be more entertaining than IV.

They really need to get some decent script-writers onto it, if it's going to be a long drawn out story. IV seemed to be, get in bed with some crime families, then join another crime family /spoiler , then watch your love interest get shot right near the end, then get revenge in a single mission, end. /spoiler There just wasn't much to it, and the twists and turns you just stopped caring about after a while.

I liked one of the earlier missions, I forget his name now, you kill him near the end. Anyway you work for his boss but then he orders you to kill the boss 'cause he's going mad and there's a cool atmosphere and all, sitting on the boardwalk. 'You have to play by the rules' or whatever. But then he double crosses you.

I didn't mind Packie as a character, and the car freak dude was funny 'cause I know someone exactly like that, but otherwise they were a bit forgettable.

Working at a cinema would be like heaven and hell combined.......it'd be awesome to see heaps of movies for free - but do you ever actually get to sit down and watch a whole film without interuption? (While working I mean).....that, and seeing a great movie 15-20times would ruin it I would think.

You'd have to time it right, so you see the first 20 mins of a movie on monday, next 20 mins on tues, next 20 mins on wed.. it'd be like reading a book!~
