Has anyone else played this Zelda game? I cannot make sense of it.. you spend more time in the train doing stupid errands than you do in temples.. I usually love blitzing through handheld Zelda games but this one has gone seriously astray. Am I the only one?

Have it, haven't finished it. It doesn't seem to be heaps different from the last one, maybe a bit more time in the train compared to the boat.

There are more side missions I reckon.

The last handheld Zelda game I really loved the  out of was Minish Cap, that game was awesome.

Yeah I haven't really enjoyed Spirit Tracks or Phantom Hourglass. I hope they go back to a format akin to Oracle of Seasons/Ages for the next Zelda handheld titles because quite honestly, I don't think I could take another touch-screen adventure  >.>

Yeah, that's how I feel with the touch screen in Spirit Tracks. Too much effort for little reward.

I have it, had a lot of trouble getting in to it, haven't played it since I had to repair some bridge after the second dungeon.

I didn't like Phantom Hourglass much, and didn't finish it. Spirit Tracks looked like more of the same so I passed on it.

Yeah it's weird. I finished PH but it took me ages - I started playing and then just lost interest and didn't come back for months after. Spirit Tracks just sorta died for me. I really don't get into handhelds anymore. Unless I'm travelling for a long time I just see no point.

They're nice looking games, and pretty nicely put together, but really, nothing on the DS has impressed me as much as when I first saw Mario 64 running on it. The day I first turned it on was a sweet day indeed.

Yeah and this is what amazes me. The game that most people were amazed to see on a handheld, and originally bought the DS for, is still at $69.95RRP yet it is almost 15 years old. Imagine Quake 1 still being sold today for full price, or the original Tomb Raider, or Resident Evil. All 1996 games.

It's not just Mario 64 either, they rehash tracks in the Mario Kart games on all of their consoles.. SNES FAVOURITES!! shut up, make something new.

That's Nintendo's business strategy for you - make the RRP as high as you dare, then don't lower it unless you absolutely have to. I think console sales are where they've made most of their money recently. The Wii console was a huge money grab, they're just lucky it was a success.
