You have to love Kirby as a franchise. For every classic power-inhaling sidescroller like Kirby Wii, there's a Kirby Air Ride, a Kirby Canvas Curse, a Kirby's Epic Yarn, or even a Kirby Mass Attack. Nintendo is not afraid to play around with the franchise, and almost every game has a new conceit to shake things up. Like I said, you've got to love it.
In Kirby Mass Attack, made for the DS but obviously compatible with the 3DS too, the gimmick is that the titular hero has been split into ten pieces. You control the Kirby swarm with the stylus and flick them onto enemies in a, cough, mass attack. Some challenges require certain numbers of characters, so you'll have to do some careful juggling to ensure you have enough Kirbys to progress, almost like Pikmin.
