And so the slow decline of the Nintendo DS begins. Sure, the 3DS has hardly set the world alight with smash sales or games, but it is officially The Next Big Thing, as far as Nintendo is concerned. That means its predecessor, the DSi and DSi XL have got a price cut here in Australia. Gotta push that inventory. The former is now $199.95 (down from $249), and the latter is now $249.95 (down from $299).
The DSi XL was always aimed at an older audience, who tend to be quite price-conscious. This will definitely help it move more units to a crowd uninterested in the 3DS tech. Plus, a DS for $200 is good buy given its great back catalogue of now cheap games. They won't disappear from the streets just yet.
