NHL Rivals 2004 Soundtrack

Gigabeat Records is announcing the release of the CD soundtrack to the Xbox video game, NHL Rivals 2004, which includes tracks from Journey, Sammy Hagar, Pat Benatar, Boston, Survivor and more! The top rock songs featured on this soundtrack have combined album sales totaling over 43,000,000 units, and for the first time they are available on one CD. A bonus DVD containing exclusive in-game video, game opening movie, game trailer, screenshot gallery, wallpaper gallery, NHL’s Best Hits and Saves from 2002-2003, NHL’s Best Goals from 2002-2003, Ultimate Gretzky DVD Sneak Peek, and NHLPA’s Goals & Dreams Fund Video will also be included in the packaging of the NHL Rivals 2004 CD soundtrack. This is the first soundtrack in the XSN Sports Soundtrack Series to be released through Gigabeat Record’s relationship with Microsoft Game Studios.

Marketing for the NHL Rivals 2004 soundtrack will entail several online and email campaigns including news and/or links on game related areas of WindowsMedia.com, Xbox.com, XboxLive.com, XSNsports.com, TowerRecords.com and Classicsdujour.com. Sammy Hagar will be interviewed for the NHL TV program on ESPN, "Cool Shots". A link for downloading Sammy’s song, "I Can’t Drive 65" (a custom remake of his song "I Can’t Drive 55") will be included on those sites and there will be exclusive content for Xbox Live members.

NHL Rivals 2004 is Microsoft Game Studios’ inaugural National Hockey League (NHL) title for Xbox. It utilizes revolutionary new Web-based technology exclusive to XSN Sports titles, enabling users to customize teams and leagues and view schedules from the centralized Web site, XSNsports.com. With more than 700 in-game, motion-captured animations, hockey fans will be able to take wrist shots, one-timers and slap shots just like real NHL superstars.
