Microsoft: Next Generation of Games Starts With XNA
25th March 2004, 8:23am
Microsoft will be using XNA for next-gen software development, which will be used for PC, Xbox and Windows Mobile-based devices in a move to combat rising production costs of games. Xbox live development tools will also become available to windows developers in a move to replicate the experience by xbox live players.
Microsoft looks like it is taking the right direction. As games do become more complex, there surely must be the same code being used time and time again, cutting that extra piece out, should free up extra time to spend on creating a solid game while reducing costs, which now days appear to be very expensive.
