E3 2004: Sony News *Updated* - PS2

Sony has released a number of factsheets and screens about several of its upcoming games on the PS2. The biggest title out of the lot and the most hotly anticipated game would be Gran Turismo 4. Sony line-up appears to be very varied across genres and there should be something there that appeals to most gamers.
  • The Getaway: Black Monday

    • The story narrative will progress backward and forward in time both in gameplay and movie sequences. One story unfolds from three perspectives, as the paths of the characters entwine. The beginning starts with a chain of events that takes place two years after the demise of a most notorious crime boss. A bank job goes wrong and a small time thug gets in way over his head and a cop is out for revenge. Players will need to make decisions that will influence the final outcome of the game.
  • Syphon Filter: The Omega Strain

    • Gamers will enter a workd of intrigue and espionage, battleing enemies through missions that will give you the opportunity of seeing the country side or prehaps Yemen to Tokyo. You have a deadly arsenal of high tech weaponry and gadgets you can take on commandos solo or go online and join up with 3 others.
  • EyeToy: AntiGrav

    • You have seen the eye toy in action. Now they have added another capability with it. Armbands enable players to activate the color tracking capabilities of the Eye Toy Camera. You will be part of the hover board scene as you race over diverse terrain, grinding rails, getting air. Plenty of hidden extras and unlockables. You can compete against AI or challenge a friend.
  • Hot Shots Golf Fore!

    • Hot Shots Golf will allow you to play up to four players as well as incorporating an online mode. Players can choose from more that 30 characters from the clubhouse as well as new golgers and caddies. 15 different courses will be available offering different challenges
  • Sly 2: Band of Thieves

    • Sly is on another journey this time to make sure that the Clockwerk is never reassembled. Sly will travel to the far reaches of th globe with his crew that will see plat full of deceit, twists and a romantic triangle.
  • NHL FaceOff 2005 (Working Title)

    • This game features players with detailed facial animations that convey the power and passion of their sport. The game will include EyeToy functionality which allows you to put your face into the game and become a NHL player. Modes available will be Tournament Mode, Franchise Mode, Online Mode and Rivalry Mode. A mode to suit almost anyone.
  • Jak 3

    • Jak has been banished to the wasteland a desert environment five times the size of Haven City with areas that include mines and a volcano. Due to the size of the terrain vehicles will feature a big part of the game with off-road transport being included that is based on a true to life physics engine. Gamers will recognise some of the characters as some new ones have been introduced and will slowly be revealed as they fight for thier lives.
  • Ratchet & Clank: Up Your Arsenal

    • The team is back! Single player and a new multiplayer mode that can be played offline and online will be available this time around. The game is set to push the action platform further to deliever a fulfilling single and multiplatform expereince. the team find themselves traveling back to Planet Veldin to battle Dr. Nefarious who plans to wipe out all organic life in the galaxy. To do this he has instructed the Tyhrranoids, a race of multi-eye aliens to annihilate the organics. Ratchet and Clank set off to stop his plan in their tracks.
  • Rise of the Kasai

    • This game offers gamers a new and innovative approach to fighting adventure games. With an acclaimed combat system gamers can attack in either stealth mode or use the best weapon for the job. Up to a staggering nine opponents in the gamers range can be attacked. It has a engaging story line that will immerse you into a world of dark magic and discovery.
  • Kill Zone

    • You will play an ISA member whichs is part of a majority of colonies that have formed together. A militaristic group the Helghast have been able to land and deploy when the colony of Vecta defenses fail. Your first point of call is the escorting of a high-ranking official to an evacuation point. Do you think you can handle that?
  • Gran Turismo 4

    • This game does not need much explanation it is a hotly anticipated title on the PS2. New features have been added to provide for a car culture in every dimension. New modes include a GT Photo Mode and what will be popular GT Online Mode. GT Career simulation mode and GT Arcade Mode will be again making a come back with enhancements.
  • God of War

    • Kratos is an ex-Spartan soldier possessed by the God of War Ares. over time Kratos becomes the most vicious warrior in Ancient Greece to the point he can not take it any more. He undertakes a journey to kill Ares. The only way to destroy the God of War is to find Pandora's Boz which is located in a temple that is perched on a hill guarded by traps, puzzles and enemies. Can you take out the God of War?
  • WRC 4 Screenshots

    • WRC 4 allows fans to fully participate in the action of the WRC season, experiencing the thrill of all 16 WRC locations on 5 continents. Including more than 100 different stages - Point to Point, Super Special, Shakedown and Sprint Stages - WRC 4 allows the gritty, fast-paced realism of Rally to be faithfully recreated on PlayStation 2.
  • Jackie Chan Adventures Screenshots

    • Jackie faces conflict from an evil group of ninjas known as the Dark Hand, who are also on the trail to find the talismans for the demon Shendu. If he were to attain the talismans, Shendu would regain all his former powers allowing him to destroy the world!
