Baten Kaitos Images - Gamecube

Namco's upcoming RPG Baten Kaitos has just gone gold in the US, and to celebrate we've grabbed screenshots for you to drool over. Baten Kaitos is said to be over 60 hours long, and will utilise 'Magnus Cards' in both battle and adventure.

Ever wondered how RPG heroes carried all that equipment with them in their travels? In Baten Kaitos, you will find blank Magnus Cards that you can use to absorb the essence of an item and keep permanently in your stash. Of course, there will also be proper cards for items like potions, and for attacks. Each card has a number between 1 and 5 on it, and linking cards together can create massive combos. Fighting is done in real time, and to start (or continue) a combo, you'll have to find the card you want and select it before you character has finished performing their previous attack. Neat!
