American, Canadian And Japanese Pre-orders Sky High - NDS
12th November 2004, 5:28pm
With about nine days until the American release of the Nintendo DS, two of the largest stores in America have stopped taking any more pre-orders. Electronics Boutique and Gamestop have been so flooded by the demand for the system that they are afraid they may run out.Over the border, an employee at Toys R Us Canada has reported that they too will no longer be accepting pre-orders.
A week after the American launch, the Japanese will be able to get their hands on a Nintendo DS. In Japan, over two million units have been ordered...but Nintendo had plans to ship only one million by the end of 2004. And it's not even Christmas yet.
The hype is building for Nintendo's third pillar. It would be disappointing if there are not enough to satisfy the demands of the public.
