Nintendo DS American Sales - NDS
2nd December 2004, 10:09am
Americans just can't seem to get enough of the Nintendo DS. In the Thanksgiving period, half a million systems flew off shelves. Over 90% of all the NDS systems in America have been sold, so Nintendo are being forced to ship in more. Nintendo expects to sell 1 000 000 units by the start of 2005. In comparison, Apple's iPod only sold that many units after 19 months! The PSP may have a hard time cracking Nintendo's market. If the trend continues down under, then it may be worthwhile pre-ordering a system. It seems that it might be hard to find one!
On a side note, the Gameboy Advance (SP and the original) sold 800,000 units in that time, and the Gamecube + Mario Kart: Double Dash!! bundle boosted sales for the system to around 250,000 units.
