DS Desires Can Be Fulfilled - NDS
10th December 2004, 11:28am
According to Satoru Iwata, Nintendo will be shipping a further 800 000 Nintendo DS units by the end of December. Considering that they only expected to ship 2 million by that time, it shows that the Nintendo DS is quite popular. For those of you struggling to get your hands on a Nintendo DS, whether through an import or if you live overseas, it should now be a bit easier. Iwata commented that "Both in the US and Japan, our supply cannot keep up with demand."The US will receive half of that 800 000. The initial North American shipment of Nintendo DS (around 500 000) was practically sold out in the first week. Since then, approximately 700 000 units have been sold, and around 500 000 in Japan. This pushes the total units sold past 1.2 million worldwide. And the NDS isn't even out in the PAL regions.
