RUMOUR: The Legend Of Zelda 2005 Details - Gamecube

Here are a couple of rumours we've heard regarding the newest Zelda game, set to hit stores in Winter 2005. The game will reportedly feature a new Link (remember, according to Shigeru Miyamoto, all the Links are different, as one rises to whatever disaster occurs) that has a deep and introspective personality. The story will reportedly be more character-driven that previous adventures.

The game will be set in a world larger than those before, though whether that means a newly-designed Hyrule or an alternate world (eg. Majora's Mask), we don't yet know. Link will have to set up camp on the way to his destinations, and will use a magical item called the Reins of Sorrow.

The horse shown in the awesome E3 2004 trailer is called Poseidon, and was rescued by our hero from a flood caused by a fierce storm. Attached to the horse were the Reins of Sorrow, which have the power to transform Link into animals. Some creatures mentioned include an eagle and a wolf.

Although these rumours have reportedly came from Satoru Iwata himself, take them with a grain of salt. But if it's true...We've got a game to look forward to. Special thanks to forum member Insanopointless for the tip-off.
