New Zelda 05 Info - Gamecube

Spanish games publication 'Hobby Consolas' has revealed some new information about the upcoming Zelda game. To begin with, the new world will be two to three times bigger than the world of Ocarina of Time. Like, seriously massive. Riding on your trusty steed will thus take up a bit of your time, but that's okay since there will be plenty of staged horseback battles.

In the version that the publication supposedly played, gamers started in a town called Tauro Village. This was obviously a training area like Kokiri was in the N64 adventure. Apparently, Link starts off aged around 16, but will mature over the course of the game. Whether this means physically, a la Fable, or just a jump from one time to another, we don't know. The game is apparently 70 hours long!

There seems to be lots of different outfits for our new hero, including peasant gear. He can apparently combine clothes from different cultures to change his abilities. Also, Link has a Triforce symbol on his hand in one part of the game shown. Eiji Aonuma wanted the new Link to look almost manga-like, instead of the wooden, puppet look of Spaceworld 2000.

The world seems to be chock-full of life, with minigames like herding cattle and moving other animals around. What's cooler is his weapons: the bow now doesn't shoot as far as needed, and instead has a lifelike arc to the shot. You need to get within range to take those enemies down. Controlling Link will be rather similar to other games, though.

Well, that's all we've found out today, but look forward to more info at E3. It should keep you going until then, but if you're dying, chat it up in the
forums.
