21st May 2005, 12:34am
Mmm...RPG on RPG-starved system. Fire Emblem looks to be taking the series to new heights, with more intricacies and nice touches in a beautiful 3D world. The game is still set in its strategic roots, even though it now sports updated visuals and presentation. You can now maneouvre the camera wherever you want, through three levels of zoom.In the cutscenes the characters are handdrawn, as are the backgrounds. When playing, however, there's very nice models to drool over. It features a look similar to another great RPG for the system - Tales of Symphonia. They've used some of the old 16 bit sound effects for the title, which adds a unique flair as well as a trip down memory lane for some. The game looks to be shaping up nicely, and should be spinning in our systems sometime in the next few months.
