Viewtiful Action in September - Gamecube, PSP

The first fighting game to star the spunky hero is arriving in Japan on September 29. There's also a PSP version in development, but it has no release date either here or in Japan. I'd hazard 2006 for us Aussies.

Viewtiful Joe: Battle Carnival (aka VFX Battle) is a fighting game akin to Super Smash Bros. It supports four-player battles, allowing recognizable VJ characters to duke it out in locations ripped from the games or in the same theme.

You don't have control of VFX like other entries in the franchise, but instead you'll be picking up special "VFX Orbs" that are assigned to L or R. There are lots of different types, each with different effects - and some are brand new.

Viewtiful Joe, Captain Blue, Captain Blue Jr., Blade Master Alastor, Silvia, Dark Emperor Jet Black, and Coordinator Sprocket are all in the game. We've grabbed three in-game shots and some Viewtiful artwork of the characters. Blue Jr. isn't as cool as Joe - check them both out in the media gallery.
