New Pokemon Diamond/Pearl Details - DS

 Coro Coro Magazine in Japan has confirmed some very nice details about the upcoming Nintendo DS versions in the Pokemon franchise. For starters, it suggests we should be looking at a Q1 2006 release, not November this year.

There are no new Pokemon types, but certainly new combinations (like Steel/Fighting - see Rukario). Additionally, there are brand new Pokemon, as well as evolutions and pre-evolutions. You can see five new Pokemon in the media section. It's set in a new world again - not Kanto, Johto or Hoenn.

Because of the DS's GBA slot, you will easily be able to transfer your Pokemon from Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald and Pokemon Fire Red/Leaf Green. They also confirmed that up to 16 people will be able to connect to the game using the DS's wireless capabilities.
