Windows Vista Announced - PC
23rd July 2005, 8:57pm
Everybody's heard of Longhorn, the codename for the new Windows, however today Microsoft has announced that its name will not actually be Windows Longhorn, but instead Windows Vista.Windows Vista will be the ideal operating system for the ever increasing digital lifestyle. Microsoft has stated that it will adjust to the way you want it, to make sure you can do what you want on your computer without having to go through clutter.
"We each have our own unique view or vista of this digital world. Windows Vista is going to bring more clarity to that," announced Greg Sullivan, Microsoft's group product manager.
This is great news for gamers, as Windows XP has always used up a big chunk of RAM goodness that could be used for games, however hopefully Windows Vista will adjust to the needs of a gamer and allow for a much better FPS on an average PC.
Microsoft has stated Vista will be "Clear. Confident. Connected." and its release is set for late 2006, with the beta testing beginning in August 2005.
