32 Mario Kart Tracks - DS

Get excited - the number of tracks in Mario Kart DS is officially double the number in Mario Kart: Double Dash!!, which makes you realise how much more Nintendo could have crammed into the Gamecube title.

Anyhow, there will be sixteen brand new tracks, and sixteen classic retro ones lifted from previous games and rebuilt from scratch for the DS. The retro tracks are split up in the "Retro Grand Prix" into four cups - shell, banana, leaf and lightning.

Some of the confirmed courses include Moo Moo Farm (N64), Mushroom Bridge (GC), Bowser Castle 2 (GBA) and Mario Circuit 1 (SNES). Of course, if reliving the classics and experiencing the same amount of entirely new tracks isn't enough, there's presumably a Mirror Mode and Battle Mode, as well as online play.
