RE:DS With Classic Mode - DS

Resident Evil: Deadly Silence (hmmph...another use of 'DS' in the title) is a remake of the original Resident Evil. Famitsu magazine has revealed there will be a "Classic Mode" included with the game - a complete port of the original, with traditional controls (and the opening movie).

"Rebirth Mode" is the remake, complete with unique DS gameplay. There's first-person knife fighting and puzzle that utilise all the features of the DS. Also, up to four players can connect via a LAN for co-op, or competitive play. Modes of multiplayer include contests to slay the most monsters, and working together to escape the mansion.

The Japanese will be getting the game on the tenth anniversary of the original - 19/1/06 - but we've no word on a Western release (though there will undoubtedly be one).
