Already it appears that Microsoft's new console is coming under attack from hackers overseas, with several inroads into the security mechanisms built into the unit.

Windows utilities are already available to quickly extract the contents of a full Xbox 360 disc to PC, allowing them to be transmitted or duplicated quite easily.

Microsoft appears to have also made another mistake in that a recently released 'Kiosk' disc, a demo disc used to show off the XBOX 360 facilities in stores -- with hackers discovering that the disc was unprotected, and may be freely copied and played on standard XBOX 360 units. This may open the door to unofficial software able to be developed that would allow non-licensed software to be run on the XBOX 360, as is available on the current Xbox, and on the Sony PSP.

Currently there has been no method to work around the Xbox 360 security to allow the booting of copied games or unsigned code, but with the above developments, it is quite likely in the coming few months.
