Tecmo Backs Revolution Launch - Wii
19th February 2006, 12:23pm
Publisher Tecmo has become one of - if not the - first third-party companies announce a title for the Revolution's launch.
The game will be a golf sim tentatively titled Skatto Golf Pangya Revolution - though it would obviously be renamed in its Western release. It's a console version of a PC golf game called Pangya, which is startlingly popular in Asia at the moment. The PC game was developed for Windows, and you could download and play it for free. The only costs came when players chose to purcahse clothing and other items. There was no mention of online play in the announcement, but considering the nature of the title, and golf itself as a multiplayer venture, it seems logical that it would make use of the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection. Tecmo is best known for the Ninja Gaiden and Dead or Alive series, but back in the day (i.e. the 8- and 16- bit eras) they were renowned for their wide variety of sports titles.
