Nintendo's Profits Skyrocket...Again - DS, Gamecube, Wii

Nintendo predicted a 14% loss for the fiscal year, but according to latest reports they'll actual end up with an 8.7% profit. The final fiscal year results won't be revealed until May 25, but they currently stand to make around 75-95 billion yen. That's US$637m-807m, or AUD$870m-1.1b. That's a lot.

Although foreign exchange rates come into play for their predictions, there's no doubt that the DS and the DS Lite's success in the Japan has boosted their takings. They broke the 6 million unit mark in February, and that's before the DS Lite.

Don't expect Nintendo to fade away.
