It seems like Nintendo might be onto something after all: according to a study by the Consumer Electronics Association, 65% of women aged 25-34 play video games of some sort, compared with just 35% of men at that age. Casual games were the main attraction for the high percentage of women playing, according the survey.

It seems that women were less likely to play home console games than men, but they do play simple puzzle and card games on free gaming websites and the like. Nintendo has repeatedly stated that they aim to expand the gaming market to women and non-gamers with titles like Nintendogs and Brain Training, and this trend will apparently continue with their next-generation system, the (codename) Revolution.
