 Nintendo tried (and pretty much failed) with the whole GCN-GBA thing. Thankfully, thanks to the wonders of wireless technology, things are set to get a whole lot easier when your DS and Wii talk to each other. Satoru Iwata just confirmed that the Wii and DS will link up. The first title mentioned was Pokemon Battle Revolution for the Wii ('Revolution'? You cruel, cruel people). Gamers can easily transfer characters from the DS titles - Pokemon Diamond and Pokemon Pearl, and may also be able to use the DS as a controller for Wii games.

This is on top of the announcement about the VC service offering DS demos for download - where your Wii becomes a hotspot that your DS can connect to.
