Wiimote Still Not Final - Wii
23rd June 2006, 9:30pm

We've seen various incarnations of the Wiimote over time. The first model was chunky and the smaller buttons at the bottom of the remote were labelled lowercase 'a' and 'b'. We've even seen prototypes earlier than the TGS 2005 (when it was first revealed) model in an official booklet for the system. Then, some movies featured the 'mote with 'x' and 'y' buttons instead of the aforementioned 'a' and 'b' ones, and of course, the latest addition incorporates a speaker. Also mentioned in the article was Miyamoto's surprise at how many executives from publishers enjoyed playing Wii at E3. Wii Sports will apparently be the flagship title for the system.
'I'm sure people wonder 'Why not Zelda?',' he said, 'but titles like Zelda are completely different from the Wii concept.' He insists that while Nintendo will continue to make the deep compelling games we all love, simple titles will be the ones that encourage people to play daily.
