Japan Talks Next-Gen - PS3, Wii
16th July 2006, 10:51pm
One of the related businesses to Famitsu publications, Otona Fami, surveyed developers, retailers and gamers about which next-gen console they were most looking forward to. Bear in mind that the Xbox 360 has barely made an impression on the market.- 73.6% of gamers said they'd buy a Wii first, compared with 16.7% that would buy a PS3 and 9.7% that weren't excited by either.
- Retailers are most excited by the Wii as well, at 65.9% it had the majority of the votes. Strangely, the 'neither' category actually outscored the PS3 - 18.8% of retailers are apathetic, compared to 15.3% who want a PS3.
- The game developers were the group most interested in the PS3, with 27.3% of those surveyed endorsing the beast. 69.7% were more excited about the Wii, and, as expected, just 3% of respondents didn't like either.
