No HDMI cable for the PS3 - PS3

As if the console weren't expensive enough, but those of you who want to view the PS3 in all its HD glory will have to fork out more money to purchase an HDMI cable (or a High-Definition Multimedia Interface for those tech minded people out there). This news comes from an F.A.Q. on the official Playstation 3 site for North America.

Whether or not this will be the same policy in other areas of the world remains to be seen, but we can assume that it will be the same. The lack of an HDMI cable is puzzling, considering Sony's continual hype surrounding its addition in the console, in comparison to the Xbox 360 and the Nintendo Wii.

Edit: We can confirm that the lack of an HDMI cable will also be the case in Europe.
