Wii Can Hear! - Wii

8th September 2006, 8:59pm
Despite the suggestion that Nintendo won't let developers use the Wi-Fi Connection for Wii launch titles, we've heard some reassuring news in that they've supplied third parties with documentation on how to access the Wiimote's internal speaker and memory. Just how much memory? 4000 bytes. Yeah, it's not much.

The internal memory controls settings and preferences for the remote, but apparently it's not enough to hold on to more than one title. So, if you like your sensitivity up in Trauma Centre but down in Excite Truck, you'll need to fiddle each time you play, as the remote can't hold data for multiple games.

Nintendo has also warned developers not to attach/detach the nunchuck while data is being saved to the controller's memory, due to corruption worries.
