PS3 to Use (Somewhat) Unified Online System - PS3
9th November 2006, 11:56am
Following earlier fears that the PS3 would lack a unified system similar to Microsoft's, Sony today confirmed that every game for the Playstation 3 would use a single sign-in system. However, online features for each title would still vary, going as far as having a seperate buddy system for games as opposed to using the built-in functions of the system. Sliced Comment: While this news is certainly better than the reports that were going around earlier this week (as in, PS3 titles would all use their own system), it still falls short of the very well established Xbox Live, which, of course, is a completely unified system which is used not only through the console, but through games as well.
