Wii-in' its way to the top - Wii

According to the Herald Sun, over 30,000 people have pre-ordered the Nintendo Wii here in Australia. If this is the case, the Wii may even take the crown from the Xbox 360 as Australia's fastest selling console (the 360 sold 30,000 units in 4 days when it launched).
In other news, Nintendo enjoyed a very successful launch in Japan, with over 400,000 units sold. The usual queues were present, with retailers resorting to the "tried and tested" ticket method in order to make things fair for customers. Nintendo have stated that a further 600,000 consoles will be on their way by the end of 2006, so that's good news for Japan.
Only a few days to go for the PAL regions now: it's time to get excited! In the meantime, here's some photos of the Japan launch that Nintendo were kind enough to send to us.
