News Channel Goes Live - Wii

Yes, the News Channel - the last part of the Wii Channels that has been officially announced - is available via System Update.

Associated Press is providing the headlines, which are divided into subsections like ‘Local’, ‘National’, ‘International’ and ‘Sports’. Alongside the article sits a map, pinpointing the city where the story originated. The text can also be zoomed in or out, with the words scrolling along to new lines in the same manner that the photos organise in that channel. In other words, it looks amazing, and you’ll be zooming in and out more than reading the actual news.

If you haven’t been able to do any system updates because you don’t have a wireless Internet connection at home, that is no longer an excuse. As we reported yesterday, the LAN adapter is now available through Nintendo Australia.
