It's been a while coming, but Microsoft have finally released their Wireless Xbox 360 USB Receiver for the PC platform. This allows PC users to use the Xbox 360 wireless controller under either XP or Vista just as they would on the 360.

Many upcoming PC games will take advantage of the controller specifically, or existing games that support a Gamepad will work in compatibility mode.

You can also use your Xbox 360 wireless headsets with full capabilities on the PC, in either games or applications such as Microsoft Messenger. It will also allow wireless control for Windows Media Center machines.

The receiver is available now in the US, and will cost $20USD (about $25AUD.
