Halo 3 Avaliable in Three Editions at Launch - Xbox 360

17th March 2007, 10:00am

Bungie Studios and Microsoft have revealed details of the various editions that Halo 3 will ship as, with three seperate editions confirmed.

First up (and the most boring) is the Standard Edition, which simply contains the game itself and nothing more (and probably an instruction booklet of some kind). No prices have been confirmed yet, but we can assume that this'll be the cheapest option.

Taking a step up from there, we have the Limited Edition. The Limited Edition will ship in a "sleek metal collector's case" and will contain a bonus disk and a "special Halo fiction and art book". This book contains information on the world of Halo, including the various species and factions contained in the Halo universe. The bonus disk contains behind-the-scenes video and photos of the production, and a high-definition "Making of" documentary, as well as other high-def featurettes (like any decent DVD release).

Finally, we have the crème de la crème of editions: the Legendary Edition. With only a limited supply being produced, no hardcore Halo fan would want to miss this. Shipping in a "highly collectible Spartan helmet case", this edition contains the bonus disk seen on the Limited Edition, as well as an additional disk containing "remastered cinematic material" from the Halo and Halo 2 with developer commentaries. Probably the coolest feature avaliable on this Edition is a collection of Lee Wilson's original storyboard artwork for Halo 3.

Start saving up now, folks, because I imagine that the decent editions are going to cost a pretty penny or two.
