Gears of War Annex Mode Details Revealed - Xbox 360

As we reported earlier, Gears of War is getting an update which will fix a whole heap of bugs, and add a new multiplayer mode.

Annex mode will offer gamers the type of Gear of War game they've been waiting for. Respawns.

The basics of the new gameplay mode is to take over a certain area of the map and keep control of it to earn points, and eventually get enough points to win.

There will be several control points around the maps, but only one will be active at a time. This is probably necessary considering the multiplayer is only 4v4 maximum.

When you die, you'll join the active respawn timer of 15 seconds, meaning you could respawn instantly if you're lucky, or you might have to wait as much as 15 seconds.

The Gears of War "Annex" update is due out April 9.
