Rumour: Call of Duty 4 Incoming - Xbox 360, PS3, PC

We have learnt today that Call of Duty 4 is very much in development, and even work on Call of Duty 5 has begun. An announcement for Call of Duty 4 is expected on April 28th, and details about the game will be unveiled then, or now if you like.
Call of Duty 4 will feature modern combat, but it is still unknown if they will follow the path of EA's Battlefield franchise and have battles in the Middle East. Perhaps they will follow Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon and have fighting in the U.S. and Mexico, only time will tell.
An unnamed source compared Call of Duty 4’s technical achievements to other games saying that while most shooters have two or three critical points on the head, Call of Duty 4 has 16, saying that you can shoot the side of an opponent’s helmet to make it spin on their head, or knock the helmet clean off. Supposedly you will even be able to shoot an enemy’s ear off.
PC gamers should be happy to hear that the franchise is returning to the PC for the fourth edition, but of course the game will still be on the consoles.
Multiplayer is sounding quite good too, with the unnamed source stating as many as 54 players on a server at one time.
Hopefully we'll have some confirmation of all this on the 28th.
