No Saints Row for PS3 - Saints Row 2 Instead - Xbox 360, PS3

THQ has stated that the planned Saints Row (1) for the Playstation 3 has been shelved, and instead they will be focusing their efforts on a full sequel for both the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 platforms.

CEO of THQ, Brian Ferrell, has stated that there seemed little point on spending the resources developing simply a port of the original game on PS3. This is further to their thoughts a few weeks ago, that they will be trying to focus less on straight ports - but making the most of each system on it's own.

The original game has sold some 1.8 million copies worldwide on the Xbox 360 as a worthy GTA alternative.
