It seems Blizzard have begun to listen to the many fans that have stopped playing due to the fiasco that was the Burning Crusade.

A new patch was released last night which has attempted to fix many of the wrongs that caused lots of dedicated fans to stop playing.

Some of the many updates include:

  • Players are now able to further their Netherwing reputation to earn a Nether Drake flying mount which travels at a crazy 280% speed.
  • The Black Temple is now open, with all new instances and an epic story about the Draenei and the Orcs.
  • Druids can now use their epic flight form, allowing them to travel as a bird, at the same speed as the epic flying mounts.
  • Level 70 players now have new quests available in the level 70-73 areas which require flying mounts to get to.
  • A new battleground match-making system is in place which means players will be matched based on their gear and organisation. No more raid groups VS pugs, no more avoiding the raid group system by queuing as nine instead of ten.
  • A new arena, The Ruins of Lordaero, is now added to the arena rotation.

Also, all classes have received significant changes, along with most of the Burning Crusade instances, professions, and many items.

The new quests will also give new items which players who like to quest by themselves will greatly appreciate, although these quests are much easier to complete in small groups.

For those who have quit World of Warcraft because they found the expansion was poorly executed, now may be the time to get back in to it. Blizzard have heard the cries of many fans, and have adjusted the game accordingly.
