How lucky has Europe been lately? It seems they're getting loads of exclusive information about video games. Luckily we've got English speaking gamers around that can also speak European languages, and scour the web looking for new information about games.

This time, it's Finnish. No, the game isn't finished, it's in Finnish, as in Finland.

The scans don't look in-game, in fact they look like concept art, but they do give a good idea of where the game is heading, and how the final version will look.

The interview stretches over numerous pages and gives us some juicy bits of information about Splinter Cell Conviction, including reasons why it's an Xbox 360 exclusive.

New features include:

  • New melee fights, which will take full advantage of the environment (think The Punisher), and different buttons will allow for different levels of attacks, in case you need to keep really quiet, or have the luxury of making your victim scream
  • New AI that are smarter than ever, and will hide behind anything they can to escape being killed
  • A new form of stealth. James Bond may have met his match in Splinter Cell Conviction, as you will no longer be able to rely on shadows to hide. There were a few levels in Double Agent that were like this, but it seems Ubisoft are focusing more on making it realistic.
  • The most interactive environment yet. Every single object that you can see in the scans is interactive. You can pick up papers and throw them in your enemy's face, or you can throw a whole chair at them. Perhaps this means you won't have much in the way of gadgets?
  • A brand new hair cut. Check the concept art, we had to mention it!
  • Last but not least, the developers have stated that the game is Xbox 360 exclusive as they don't know how to make such a great game on the Playstation 3 yet. The hardware is very advanced and quite hard to develop on, and Xbox 360 owners woud have to suffer dramatically if it were a cross-console game.
All very interesting points about the game, and we can't wait to get our hands on it. No release date has been given for the game yet and we'd love to see it before 2008, but it will most likely be coming out some time in the first quarter of next year.
