Brash Entertainment is a new large games studio that has just been established in the US, backed by $400 million of private equity. The company will be headed by Australian Mitch Davis, who came to prominence with Microsoft's massive buyout of his gaming advertising company Massive Inc for over $200M dollars.

Brash Entertainment will draw from various independent developers for their games, and aims to produce for a large part quality movie related games. While some may already be sceptical, they say they aim to base their new games based on quality gaming - rather than simply going on a franchises' marketing recognition to sell a game.

One of their first games will apparently be based on the Saw movie series. So far they have managed to secure some 40 movie and TV licenses, including recent movies such as 300. 12 titles are currently in production. Games will be distributed by Warner Bros.
